This is my own formula rendition of the three lights.  I set the main light higher than her head and played barn doors to make the light just focusing on her body. Using another strobe for the rim light. And the last one for illuminate the background.

The distance of the photo on the left I shot with the beauty dish near than the photo on the right with the Octabank.

I try to adjust the shadow in those two images as the same, but the results with the beauty dish always too contrast. 

And the shadow on the ground in the left also too contrasty than the right.

In general, I feel dissatisfied, I need more practice.

Assignment 3

In the photograph of Julianne at the top, I want to express her energetically positive side. To create this image, I used a diffusion board in front of the light bulb and hold the light bulb higher than her head, with a 45 angle. Seems like the light enlighten her.

For the first picture, it is possible to see the inverse square law:the light on the right side body is much lighter than the left side and the background. When the light falls on her face,A core is also created in the transition of the highlight and the shadow.


For this second photograph, I chose to show her evil and scary emotion. With the light bulb directly in front of her to create the high contrast on her face. Using the mirror to intensify this emotion.

The inverse square law also has been shown between the body and background. An angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection showed by the mirror.

Actually, our group have done two different experiments, we try to move the cards and light, but we didn't save that picture because we thought we could only move the light. This is which one we only move the light. The result is not perfect, so sorry about that.
